[Some of you may recognize Starscream's overly large, messy handwriting by now. Some of you may not. Either way, he wants to complain at you.]

What is wrong with you fleshlings? Your stories are revolting. I knew you were disgustingly organic and primitive already, but I thought you at least had some standards.

Every other fairytale in the library has interspecies fornication, inbreeding, mutilation, cannibalism, or is simply bizarre. This is the worst research I have ever had the displeasure of doing, and how in the Allspark the Autobots can admire your odious species is beyond me.

[Long pause.]

Oh yes, who here can read my messages? I have been attempting to ascertain how these communicator books function.

I see we have all been losing track of our things as of late. I suspect we should find whoever was given the role of Autolycus lest our community turn on each other. Which of us would go mad?

I am afraid, friends, I must report another stolen item. Items, rather! It seems that the few times I've entered a bar as of late, my drinks are taken. Yes, that is right. Every time I turn my head for a moment, they disappear. I am not normally one to complain, but an honest citizen can only stand so much.

If anyone can find these drinks or instead find the goodness in their heart replace my own, you will find me at The Frog Prince.

[ One very much not pleased Robin writing, here. ]

I know people's things have gone missing, and I'm trying to keep track of any items that might show up, but this is important.

If anybody locates a sharp arrow, without a quiver or a bow nearby, it might be something that was stolen from me. Chances are that you won't like what happens if you cut yourself or somebody else on its tip. So this is a warning.

[ Why, yes, since the arrows are far from ordinary, he actually keeps track of their count. And, no, he didn't just leave it lying around, either. ]

For more details, those of you who know about Cupid or Eros may get a better idea of what's coming. It can pretty much make you passionately in love with, or in desire with, the first person you see.

I will appreciate if you return it to me, should it show up, but giving you all heads-up about its dangers is more important.

- Robin

[Well, if anyone saw his last message, his writing today is downright frantic in comparison to his previous one. Instead of a nice flowery handwriting, he's probably just scrawling on the notebook today.]

Has anyone seen my Gauntlet?

It's a metallic glove that goes over the left arm. There's a screen on it, and if you tap the screen there should be a white fairy that appears named Burroughs. If anyone's seen it, can they alert me as soon as possible? It's-

I can't believe this. I've been here for two weeks and the 'fairy tale' thing hasn't worn off yet. How many bridges do I have to cross, anyway? It was only one in the story.

[ There's the distinct possibility that Iceland misunderstood what it means to take on his fairy tale role. But he really, really doesn't want to be a goat boy any longer. ]

On top of that, one of my sweaters is missing. Just what kind of place is this? It better not be those geese who took it...

[It's a bright and sunny afternoon on the 16th, and the town has become increasingly concerned over the items disappearing all over the place! In fact, it seems like things have just gotten worse over the last week or so; there's talk of entire dish sets going missing, or every single one of someone's coats. It's not just the animals at this point, though speaking of animals...

Lamb is currently consoling a poor man who seems to have lost not only his cart - with all of his wares, at that - but his horse along with it!]

(OOC: As always, you are not required to interact with Lamb or any NPCs, so don't feel you have to! You can simply use this as a sign that you can have larger items disappear. Some more observant characters may find a faint sheen of fairy dust at one crime scene, or perhaps a muddy footprint or three at another. Whoever's behind all this is getting a little more sloppy the bigger their target items get.)

[It took a long while for Harry to take up the book. Before that, he had kept his hand raised toward an empty space, his eyes closed while nothing happened. He remained in that position until sweat started showing up on his brow. Frustrated, he let out a sigh and strode to pick up the volume.

The big, gray dog next to him, big enough his back reaches the waist of the 6'9" man, follows his master with his eyes, panting and wagging his tail as encouragement. Harry appreciates that and acknowledges it with a brief mile and a nod.

Then, he opens the book and uses the quill with the expertise of someone who uses it often. He's no master calligrapher, but his handwriting is legible.

I have no idea what is going on, but there's no way this is not the Nevernever. However, the gate to the mortal world I'm trying to create doesn't open. I've tried several times. I'm not messing up the spell, Bob, in case you read this.

On the other hand, maybe it's for the best. For all I know, I could end up on the Himalayas or the bottom of the ocean. Or worse, in Morgan's bedroom. Yuck. Yes, I had to put that on writing. To show it to my therapist if I ever find one.

I've also tried to summon fairies, and even those who would do anything to find me haven't showed up. Honestly? That's scary.

In any case, that's why I came back to the book. What I write here can be read by others, right? Like one of those chat-thingies today's cool kids have. Yay! I'm a cool kid!

So, is there anyone out there who can tell me what is going on?

Thank you.

Harry Dresden.

[He closes the book, picks up a bag with his belongings, and begins walking in seemingly a random direction. It's not that he doubts the book works. Quite the contrary. But he isn't one to sit and wait for things to happen when he can make that things happening.

The dog follows him.

[It's a cloudy mid-morning on THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, and the town is bustling as always. Many people are quite excited about the second batch of new arrivals; though they're not getting quite the celebration the first round got, they still might find themselves being greeted by bizarrely friendly folk.

Out of place is a number of geese scattered around town, each with their own little messenger bag packed full of rolled up parchment. They're putting the papers up all over, on fence posts and market stalls and storefronts, even stuffing them into mailboxes and leaving them on benches. Each paper is nearly identical, with large, blocky font and the occasional inky feather mark.

[SO APPARENTLY THESE NOTEBOOKS SEND OUT MESSAGES...? Like transmissions on Gauntlets...? That was a close call, he almost used this as a diary. Uh, not that anyone needed to know that.]

Good day. [There’s an awkward pause before the next words.] My name is Jonathan. I’ve arrived in this place rather suddenly, and I’m not quite sure what I’m supposed to do.

[The presses against the paper gets a bit softer.] I don’t want to bother anyone, but if it’s not too troublesome… has anyone heard of anyone called a Samurai? Or the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado? Has anyone heard of the archangels. I assume this… isn’t Heaven?

I’m sorry for being so forward, but any help could be appreciated, even if the answer is null. [Another pause.] Oh, one last thing- has anyone else arrived here… postmortem?

Especially with winter upon us so suddenly, I find myself with little to keep me busy. The people here are kind enough, especially now that they seem content with the flowers I give them and aren't trying to poke me in the eye or pull my hair anymore, but playing the kind benefactor isn't exactly a role I'm suited to.

Has anyone given any thought to running a business? Ruling a town? Anything that might require a clerk or a secretary? There is no paper on my desk save for that I've chosen to put there myself and I'm quite out of my element.

- spending money, and colder weather. Both spell business for Kiri.

Since arriving, Kiri has mostly been keeping to himself, doing odd jobs around town (repainting houses, minor carpentry, mending clothes, retail for NPC shops) and trying to figure out how The Pupil's powers function. Using the journal didn't really come to mind... At least, not until now, with Elle safe and just enough capital to partially start the tailoring shop. Sure, making clothing for the locals is nice, but it is high time to expand the target audience.]

[Happy holidays! is centered at the top of the page, and folds out into a surprisingly well sketched drawing of a certain home at the northern edge of the housing district -- a rickety thing, shivering against the brick building beside it, with its cross-beams chipped and paint peeling -- modest and homely for all its blemishes. It is framed with an elaborate scheme of ribbons of cloth, needles, and thread woven together in sailing knots. His handwriting is neatly etched at the foot of the picture.]

Are you ready for the winter? Are you looking for that perfect gift? Come to L&F Tailoring in the northern housing district for all your clothing needs from aprons to zippers! Personalized clothing and mending are made to order starting at 5 SILVER, or an equal trade!

Holiday gift purchases come with a free animal patch! [An example is doodled just on the side.]

So the maids finally quit trying to dress me after I told them a bunch of times to cut it out. I know I'm supposed to be a prince or whatever, but do they seriously not know how to put on their own freaking pants in real life and stories? That's bullshit!

Besides, I like my damn privacy. Other people dressing me makes it feel like I'm lazy or something.

But one of them said something strange the other day. One of them told me I should keep on my best behavior, or Santa will give me coal. Santa. I asked around and, holy shit, there's a North Pole here with Santa, elves, reindeer and everything! So I wanna check it out. I wanna see the North Pole for myself!

If I pack now, I can make a trip up there and be back in time for Christmas.

...But would Santa get pissed if I went to check his place out?

[ Putting together an end of season festival doesn't happen very often, hence why most of the celebratory hints were intended for their new arrivals. Saviors, some have taken to calling them, even to their faces. But the solstice was for Winter alone. On occasion, these seasonal festivals haven't just been a welcome party, but a natural call for competition between siblings. Along with so many new faces to impress, well... Old Man Winter never had any intention of being quiet about it.

It happened overnight. In a matter of hours, the temperature dropped. Fallen leaves in the city, still crisp, still changing from red to brown, were coated in a soft layer of fresh snow. The lake iced over, the fountains froze, and the windows were overtaken by intricate patterns of frost. An icy, bitter wind whistled down from the northern continent. By noon it would be snowing again. ]

[ There's a thoughtful pause, which causes an ink blotch. He didn't think his experience with new cultures would get as diverse or otherworldly as this. Talk about more than he's bargained for. ]

I think it would be a little much to look for a common-point between us, but I'd still like to know what the places you were from are like. If you don't want to talk about it I understand! I'm sure there are better things to do than chat with a curious cat. Or you know, if you're from here you can say a little more about this place too. If I'm staying a while I might as well get to know this place better.

For me, well... I was born in the forested country of Gallia, on the continent of Tellius. We recently finished a big ol' war, and I don't want to bother you with the details. [ Basically the world as they knew it almost ended but things worked out just fine. ] It looks like the continent's in good hands though, so I'm not too worried. See, I already left home not too long ago, so I'm prepared beforehand to not know what exactly is going on back there. I used to... y'know, do small favors.  [ For the king, but let's not toot our own horn here. Not to mention all the hazards he's had to deal with. ] Met a lot of people. There really is no such thing as an average town! There are odd blokes everywhere if you look hard enough, and I mean that in a good way.

As it was I already am a bit of a traveler, actually. So on my part, I'll just consider this place an unplanned detour! Though I get if some others among you might not be so optimistic.

Before heading into the forest:

1. Stick to the paths
• Risk of more encounters if you walk off into the woods directly

2. Try not to travel alone

3. Go during the day

4. Always be ready to defend yourself

[The writing stops. He doesn't know why he even wants to go about the forest like this. Seeing the shore of a lake, he closes his journal and head towards it. Sword, gun, and ax and the animals in tow, sounds like an ideal place to stop for a bit.]
