[ Putting together an end of season festival doesn't happen very often, hence why most of the celebratory hints were intended for their new arrivals. Saviors, some have taken to calling them, even to their faces. But the solstice was for Winter alone. On occasion, these seasonal festivals haven't just been a welcome party, but a natural call for competition between siblings. Along with so many new faces to impress, well... Old Man Winter never had any intention of being quiet about it.
It happened overnight. In a matter of hours, the temperature dropped. Fallen leaves in the city, still crisp, still changing from red to brown, were coated in a soft layer of fresh snow. The lake iced over, the fountains froze, and the windows were overtaken by intricate patterns of frost. An icy, bitter wind whistled down from the northern continent. By noon it would be snowing again. ]
