01 [Text & Action]
KIRI
[Yep, Elle's devoted a whole page to her magical book to scrawling her partner's name all over it in big letters.
After the ink dries, she's already getting on to approaching the townsfolk.......who seem to be avoiding her gaze? Wow, rude. At least she's used to it, but the problem is that she doesn't have her white uniform on. How on earth do they know she has Troy? And on that topic-- why is she not dead yet? Maybe exposure to Flare helped to minimize the amount of toxins in her body. Wait, no, that doesn't makes sense considering she drained Sister Heine of her toxins. This is all so confusing.
But nevertheless, her first priority is finding Kiri.
Anyone who's watching from the sidelines will notice some of the human inhabitants making way for her, although the animals seem okay with her presence. However, Elle's not quite used to seeing so many varied animals all in one place, and she's not about to approach them. (She has no clue that some of them talk as well.)]
Ah, excuse me? [Aaaaannnnd ignored. Ugh.] Has anyone seen a boy-- blond hair, red eyes? He usually wears a yellow and black shirt?

But oh, do her eyes get wide when she gets what's wrong with this situation:]
EH?! When did yellow become so popular to wear? [Seriously. This would never be that big of an issue back home. Owain otherwise fits her poor description, except for the lack of red irises.]

no subject
Ah, no. [This sure is awkward. Just to make amends, Elle gives a small, apologetic bow.] I'm so sorry. I'm looking for my friend Kiri, but...I haven't had any luck finding him, even with the book. [Sigh.]
But, at least it's good to know that people are actually listening to me.
no subject
I guess so. [...Generica didn't seem too thrilled with her but she seems okay.
Alright.]
And a hero is never idle so allow me me help you on your quest. [Beats the alternatives.] Tell me more about your boon companion! I heard about the hair, the shirt, and the eye thing.
no subject
Hehe, is that what your book assigned you? [She still hasn't quite figured out who/what 'kumiho' is yet.]
His hair is really spiky too, if that helps. Kiri's also a really good artist and tailor...so he may be around those kind of stores...
no subject
[...just don't bring up the shonen angle.] So what else does he have? A scar? An aura of...I guess art since you said he's an artist. A sword that glows at night?
no subject
When Kiri finally, finally looks at his journal, it was to post an advertisement for the beginnings of his store. Casually, just taking a break between experiments, Elle's frantic handwriting catches his eye.
No time. For all he knows, seizures are there, she couldn't write back. But, without Flare -... Kiri doesn't think. He sprints into the streets, enchanted ink stains still on his arms, bags under his eyes, and all.]
ELLE! WHERE ARE YOU!?
[When he shouts her name, it gets cast to the farthest corners of the town, for everyone's ears. Ghost Sound isn't supposed to be used like this. And, quite frankly, Kiri doesn't care considering how blood is dripping from his nose and a splitting headache is blurring his vision.]
no subject
Umm...none of those? I don't think swords can glow at night, but--
[Suddenly Kiri's voice is ringing through her ears, and Elle's first reaction is a undignified squawk as she slaps her hands over her ears.]
T-that would be him! How on earth...? [Oh right, something about magic?] I guess our search won't be that long after all! [Whether Owain follows or not is up to him, but Elle's already turning around and dashing through the streets to find the source of the voice.]
Kiriii-! [Let's hope they find him before he blasts out their eardrums.]

This isn't fast enough, his legs are aching and lungs are burning. He can see her just through the crowd. At the very least, he can see her one last time before she fades away -... at least give him that, let him face his failure. If only he had some more time to find the cure. So, when they practically collide and Kiri is giving anything but a platonic hug (a hand low on the small of her back and the other just at the base of her neck), he clings to her like a lifeline, expecting her to vanish at any moment.]
no subject
But wow, Kiri's hurdling towards them way too fast. Elle's practically shoved backwards during the collision with a grunt to accompany the impact.]
K-Kiri, what on earth? Are you okay?! [His hold on her is definitely not something she's used too, and all the worse, in front of someone she just met! If she wasn't so confused, she'd be as red as a beet.]
no subject
Wow, look at that random donkey over there. (At least things seem to be going okay.)]
no subject
Sorry, Owain, Kiri's got a one-track mind. How rude.Just about everything Elle is freaking out just about goes over his head. It still hasn't quite registered how much green, black, and blue ink are being smeared between the two of them, either. He's savoring this moment-... that is going on for longer than expected. A lot longer. Kiri pulls away after a few seconds, just enough to see her face, grinning so wide and happier than he's ever been before -- in the heat of the moment, he places a hand to her cheek to make sure she's still solid.]You're okay. You're not -...
[He can't find the words when it hits him. She's not cold. In fact, she's more radiant than he's ever seen her before -- no weight on her shoulders from Troy, or dullness to her skin. What Father Time was telling him starts making sense... Then, what was the point of spending so much time trying to find a cure, agonizing over Flare, everything he has been doing.
That's when he notices the other blonde. What little is left of the moment shatters. Kiri's hand drops from her cheek and he looks from Owain to Elle and back again. Happiness turns into this mess of perturbed confusion, with an extra dash of awkward from that smear of blood above his upper lip dripping down to his chin. The headache is shoved aside for another bit longer, just as much as he hasn't quite let go of her.]

H-hnnnnnnnnnngggggrhhhnnnnnaaAAAAAGH!!! [That glance towards Owain is another reminder that there's someone with them and immediately spikes her flustered state to the point that she's had enough of this. Her hand latches onto the arm still wrapped around her waist to pry it away and return it to Kiri's side. The whole motion is way too exaggerated, but Elle's not exactly thinking clearly to act calmly. Instead, she's using her cloak's sleeve to rub away the blood from his face and potentially smother him in the process.]
DO YOU KNOW how many people here wear YELLOW SHIRTS?! Argh, meet your look-alike!
[Yeah, she's totally lost her cool.]
no subject
And whoa, involuntary half-step back, when did you happen?]
Uh...yeah! Some of the locals thought that your friend was looking for me. [After he mentioned the eye thing and is the guy's eyes red? They're totally red. This is so unfair.] I'm Owain! A he-...sorry, but I gotta ask. Do you eyes flash in the night or something like that?
no subject
c)he really missed her doting, even if this comes with smothering. What he'd intended as nice t'meet ya, Owain. Nah, they don't. comes out more like: ]Nihmmmf'mehdmm, ohmmin.nnhmeeehd'nn.
no subject
Now that she's taken out some of her embarrassment on him, her attention flickers back to their new acquaintance. How rude of her. At least she's pulling away from Kiri to smile back at Owain.
Don't mind the sudden switch back to polite business.]Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Elraine. I hope I didn't disrupt anything of yours because of my search for him. [Gesturing to Kiri.] But uh what do you mean by 'flash'?
no subject
no subject
and risk internal bleeding, but it's not like anyone needs to know this. Kiri would retort to that 'evil' comment if he wasn't leaning on Elle a little more than he'd hoped he'd need to.]Maybe... Still tryin' to find out.
[Kiri lies through his teeth with shocking ease; no one needs to know about the full extent of his powers. Here's hoping no one will question the irreparably smudged blue, green, and black ink along his arms, and Elle won't notice the lack of Flare so soon.]
You get a power?
no subject
I haven't done anything strange yet. Is your role a wizard or something like that? [
You're a wizard, Harry!]What about you, Owain? I've never heard of anything like a 'giant killer'. Does that role give you powers?
no subject
[No idea who, due to the books, but someone had. And now he's feeling kind of gypped right now. People are getting powers? He didn't get powers? What's all of this power stuff he missed out on. Unfair!]
Nay, the only thing I woke up with that was different was a golden belt, upon which was engraved the words... [Dramatic pause, and then he declares somberly:] -'seven in one blow.' [Then, in a more normal tone.] I left it where I'm staying. It's kind of ugly and I have no idea what it means.
no subject
Maybe y'got super strength.
[Thankfully, slowly but surely, his head is clearing -... emphasis on slowly. But, hey, the street isn't spinning!]
no subject
W-well, it's better to not be cursed, right? Or...does that still apply here?
[And hey there, Kiri, she's just going to wrap an arm around your shoulder to help you continue standing properly.]
no subject
And so he's going to glance away, if but awkwardly, and that was a fascinating looking roof.]
Gods...probably not? [This was worse than unintentionally making that princess believe he was a mage.]
no subject
I don't have my power, anymore... [And now I have different powers. Then, he looks over Elle -- a hint of a smile somewhere there.] Y'don't look like you have Troy.
[He looks back to Owain with an agreeing nod.] Maybe. [And it certainly isn't making him any less wary for as much as his head is clearing.]
no subject
Holy.
Crap.]
Y-You're right?! [She seriously can't believe it. Elle even has to grab Kiri's hand to realize she doesn't feel the usual burst of energy from him. And when she looks down at her own hands...] I...don't?
[With no sign of Troy that she can sense, she has her explanation for why she hasn't disappeared yet.]
Owain, would you mind? [Her hand is thrust towards his direction. Obviously she's forgotten about her worry for his 'curse':] I know this sound weird, but could you um touch or hold my hand.
no subject
As you will, though I am wary of what might happen when our...our? Our fearsome powers collide. [Poke. ...]
no subject
no subject
Nothing happened. I'm so glad, hehe...
[Withdrawing her hand, she uses the cleanest part of her sleeve to wipe her eyes, but once she's done, Elle wraps her arms around Kiri's neck in elation.]
I'm finally free! Isn't that great, Kiri?! [The realization really hits her now, and goodness, she cannot stop the tears. It's hard to hold it together when it's practically been a decade since she touched a normal person, not for treatments or for Flare. This is all kinds of amazing.] This whole kidnapping business is horrible, but-- but I don't have to worry anymore.
no subject
Gods, it was easy to get Inigo or Brady to cry but this was the first time he got someone to cry just from a poke of the hand.
And then he glanced up and...over Elraine, trying to catch Kiri's attention even though the guy was probably preoccupied but he had to ask.]
What just happened?
