I can't believe this. I've been here for two weeks and the 'fairy tale' thing hasn't worn off yet. How many bridges do I have to cross, anyway? It was only one in the story.

[ There's the distinct possibility that Iceland misunderstood what it means to take on his fairy tale role. But he really, really doesn't want to be a goat boy any longer. ]

On top of that, one of my sweaters is missing. Just what kind of place is this? It better not be those geese who took it...

I think a bridge could tell a very interesting story! Look at all the people who come and go over them!

Even if the people are interesting, they still walk over the bridge the same way.

No way! Some of them walk and some of them take a bike! Some of them hold other people's hands, and they all have their own story that they talk about when they cross over the bridge! I bet there are people who jump or fish or catch crabs from the bridge, too!

A bridge can't feel or think, it doesn't know about those things.

Sure it could, if it was a character in a story!

Okay, but what else could it do? It couldn't go anywhere.

I definitely wouldn't walk over a bridge the could talk.

It could be the narrator!

That still seems like an odd story.

But it would be different! You'd remember it because there wouldn't be another story like it!
