[It's a cloudy mid-morning on THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, and the town is bustling as always. Many people are quite excited about the second batch of new arrivals; though they're not getting quite the celebration the first round got, they still might find themselves being greeted by bizarrely friendly folk.

Out of place is a number of geese scattered around town, each with their own little messenger bag packed full of rolled up parchment. They're putting the papers up all over, on fence posts and market stalls and storefronts, even stuffing them into mailboxes and leaving them on benches. Each paper is nearly identical, with large, blocky font and the occasional inky feather mark.

If stopped, the geese will be more than happy to talk at great length about how terrible this all is. Strangely, there appear to be a few other people and animals poking around as though looking for something, or acting a bit sullen for such an otherwise joyful day.]

Oh, I'm certain if this goes on for any length of time, it will catch her attention quite easily! She is, after all, quite literally Justice.

[This is completely normal, apparently.]

[Yuuya tilts his head and holds his neck in the avian equivalent of someone scratching their head.]

Quite literally? She is... some sort of embodiment, then? Please forgive me if I'm disrespectful, I am quite new.

It's quite alright, my dear sir. Yes, she is one of the beings around who is an embodiment of something! There are others, too, you know. Father Time, for instance, as well as Death, Mother Nature, and the Seasons!

You're very kind to a stranger, my fine friends! We haven't anything of the sort back home. Or not that are known to me, at least! Do all of them have homes and live as people do?

Indeed! Father Time resides in the clock tower, and the Seasons come and go during their own months, though dear Spring does so love to spend time here no matter the time of year.

I see, I see. Is Spring particularly fond then of the town and the people?

Very much so, yes. And we are all quite fond of her as well! Oh, that isn't to say we don't like the other Seasons, because that would be just terrible. But it's so very hard not to be fond of a little girl who runs around bringing us flowers.

That does sound adorable...

What species do they all appear to be?

All human, sadly. Spring is the youngest-looking of them all, with Summer in second as a teenager. The rest appear as adult humans of varying ages, though Death is certainly more ethereal than the rest.

Regrettable. There is a charm to the human body, I can't deny it. But their necks are so short! [he shakes his head in pity.]

Do you know if they were born and raised, or is this appearance... not complete?

It is such a shame, isn't it? They have those lovely little fingers, but having to move so much of one's body to look around!

[There's a bit of tsk-ing.]

I'm afraid I wouldn't know; they are all much older than they look. Older than the town itself, surely, and it's been around for generations.

Just so! And they're so very naked under their clothing, I have to pity them in cold weather like this.

I see. My friends, I do hate to take too much time from your errand. I don't suppose there is a town history written somewhere?

If not the courthouse itself, one of the buildings around it may have something! If this were some other town I would suggest a town hall, but with Lady Justice and Father Time around, there's not much need for a proper mayor, you see.

[A head-and-neck gesture equivalent to a human raising their eyebrows.]

Is that so! Interesting. Clearly things here are not run entirely in ways that are familiar to me.

[and a dove-bow.] Well, from the bottom of my pigeon heart, thank you. You've been a great help.

[There's some more tittering from the geese.]
