[It's a cloudy mid-morning on THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, and the town is bustling as always. Many people are quite excited about the second batch of new arrivals; though they're not getting quite the celebration the first round got, they still might find themselves being greeted by bizarrely friendly folk.

Out of place is a number of geese scattered around town, each with their own little messenger bag packed full of rolled up parchment. They're putting the papers up all over, on fence posts and market stalls and storefronts, even stuffing them into mailboxes and leaving them on benches. Each paper is nearly identical, with large, blocky font and the occasional inky feather mark.

If stopped, the geese will be more than happy to talk at great length about how terrible this all is. Strangely, there appear to be a few other people and animals poking around as though looking for something, or acting a bit sullen for such an otherwise joyful day.]

[As castles go, it is quite luxurious.]

We do which is why it tends to be overwhelming. Even in the library...

[This does not make a great deal of sense to Mogget. He pauses a moment to clean a paw before looking up at her again.]

Even the library is too much for you?

The servants seem to have homing beacons almost.

[She doesn't need help with everything.]

[Oh, he's been there, done that. Even so, he'd rather have the servants than not... at least at mealtimes. He pads away a few paces and turns back, tail twitching.]

So what is your purpose in returning to town? Shopping? Sightseeing? Attempting again to find Father Time?

Why do you want to know?

[Asking so many questions about her personal reasons for escaping for a day.]

[Mogget shakes his head.] Idle curiosity, I suppose. How we newcomers have come to accept our new lives. Even our roles.

You seem to be taking to yours fairly well.

I have yet to play it.

Until someone finds your lamp, little more will happen.

[CHANGING THE SUBJECT:]

I read your tale too. At the castle.

I see. And?

[No matter what he thinks of it, it ultimately doesn't matter.]

Consider yourself fortunate that you get a happy ending.

[Bitter? Mogget? Surely not.]

Were the storyteller not faced with death, perhaps the ending would've been different.

Perhaps I should find the storyteller and make her tell it differently.

[He doesn't really think it's possible though. Mogget shrugs - well, as much as a cat can shrug.]

If they're here, maybe you can.

[She was another character after all. It would be a matter of locating them if they were present.]

[He'd certainly try if he found her.]

Hmm. There are newcomers. But I fully expect to encounter Aladdin first.

[Who he would kill on sight. Mogget has no intention of taking chances here.]

Still... who knows?

[He's looking towards the centre of town as he says this. A moment later his cat form seems to evaporate into smoke, drifting into the air... then gone.]

[Who could say what the full consequences would be. Nothing had exactly been said.]
