So the maids finally quit trying to dress me after I told them a bunch of times to cut it out. I know I'm supposed to be a prince or whatever, but do they seriously not know how to put on their own freaking pants in real life and stories? That's bullshit!
Besides, I like my damn privacy. Other people dressing me makes it feel like I'm lazy or something.
But one of them said something strange the other day. One of them told me I should keep on my best behavior, or Santa will give me coal. Santa. I asked around and, holy shit, there's a North Pole here with Santa, elves, reindeer and everything! So I wanna check it out. I wanna see the North Pole for myself!
If I pack now, I can make a trip up there and be back in time for Christmas.
...But would Santa get pissed if I went to check his place out?

[Tilting her head.]
Cookies? Right... cookies and milk.
action
We got one tree, though, in the ballroom. Stakeout's gonna happen right in there. Whip up one big plate of cookies and a lotta milk, maybe some water n' grasses for the reindeer and we're good, yeah?
...Let's do it, Naoto! Let's have a big-ass stake-out!
action
I still advise against this.
[Being disrupted while working was... irritating. Still, maybe Santa wouldn't mind. He was commonly depicted as a jolly man. Of course, that appearance wasn't universal. Lamb would probably know.]
action
[He looked down at the open book before him, and was pink. He shrugged, hesitated a moment, and confessed:]
I know I'm pretty close to 17, but... I feel like this'll be my only chance to really meet 'im. I mean, I spent half my life believing in the guy.
action
... Fine. We'll stay up, but after we see him, it's off to bed.
action
[But he looked back up in a mild surprise when she agreed to it. So maybe he shouldn't walk up and shake Santa's hand or ask to pet a reindeer... wasn't seeing him enough? Yeah. Yeah, it was.]
...Really? I-I mean, sure, straight to bed after, I don't wanna bother him, but...
[A small smile.]
Hey, you believed for a bit too, didn't ya?
action
[She nodded when Kanji agreed to the terms and turned to walk away. However, he spoke up and she stopped, glancing back at him.]
I did, but I stopped shortly after my parents died.
action
...Yeah. That about sums it up for me, too.
[He ruffled his hair a little, mumbled an apology - dark subject - and sighed. He paused, pushed out of his chair and closed the journal before tucking it under his arm.]
I, uh, should get goin' on... somethin', head into town for some stuff. You need somethin' from the market?
action
[Watching him stroll past, one eyebrow rose.]
No, but should you really be going to town after the last reception? [They didn't really... approach him after all.]
action
I finished my cloak. I can draw up the hood and hide my face. Maybe it'll help if I'm quick n' quiet with my purchases.
action
... Message me should there be an unavoidable confrontation. [Hopefully before the anger goes past fangs] I'm going to practice out in the gardens while you're gone.
action
[thankfully, she wasn't the only one thinking about his anger lately. He couldn't change. He just had to relax, that's all. He couldn't let the whispers of 'Beast' and strange looks get to him.]
...Maybe there'll be a book on faerie magic in town, too. I'll take a look around.
action
[That would keep them from being alarmed. Well, hopefully. She stared at him, not having considered the possibility of there being a book on Faerie Magic. Spellbooks, maybe, but Faerie Magic, she didn't know if that was cataloged or if its methods had somehow been recorded. Didn't sound like something that would be.]
Please do.
action
[They had an evil faerie to be wary of, after all, and if the stories were true here, they were capable of anything.]
