[It's a cloudy mid-morning on THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, and the town is bustling as always. Many people are quite excited about the second batch of new arrivals; though they're not getting quite the celebration the first round got, they still might find themselves being greeted by bizarrely friendly folk.

Out of place is a number of geese scattered around town, each with their own little messenger bag packed full of rolled up parchment. They're putting the papers up all over, on fence posts and market stalls and storefronts, even stuffing them into mailboxes and leaving them on benches. Each paper is nearly identical, with large, blocky font and the occasional inky feather mark.

If stopped, the geese will be more than happy to talk at great length about how terrible this all is. Strangely, there appear to be a few other people and animals poking around as though looking for something, or acting a bit sullen for such an otherwise joyful day.]

[Franziska's going to get a scramble of animals lining up with only minimal shoving. A rather ancient-looking goose is first.]

Oh, I was the one to lose my teacups, dear. It's a tragedy, I simply can't have my afternoon tea without them. I imagine it must have been a human who did it!

[There's a startled honk out of that goose as a mouse hops onto its back so it can be heard and seen better.]

Don't be ridiculous! I'm missin' most of my toffees, aren't I, and my mousehole's nowhere near big enough for one of them!

[ Why are they all animals? She will never get used to the talking animals. It didn't help that they act the same way she expects people to. ]

Objection! No cutting! Back of the line, you ridiculous rodent!

[ She points forcefully to the back of the line, before she continues to get the goose's testimony. ]

Now, grandmother goose, what does your teacup look like? Where did you last see it?

[The mouse sulks off to the back, grumbling incomprehensibly. The goose harrumphs and turns its attention back to Franziska.]

Well it's nice to see that some of you newcomers do have some manners, dear. It was teacups, plural, of course, but they are about so big,

[Here the goose holds the tips of its wings apart in front of it in the approximate size of a teacup on the smallish side.]

and a quite nice pale rose, with lovely little sunshine yellow fish swimming all around the outside.

How dare someone deprive such a pleasant woman of her precious tea cups? To think that it may now be at the hands of some uncivilized boor. [ And she would have genuinely meant it if she weren't talking to a goose.

She takes note of the design. ]

Why, in my china cabinet just yesterday. I didn't have a single visitor between then and when I noticed it missing, and my front door was still locked!
