[Paul is doing what he does best in the forest, chopping down trees, an acre per swing. He often gets lost in the work, as the crack of living wood thunder's through the forest, the course grain of his axe handle seemingly alive and writhing in his grasp as he swings it again and again. As he swings, he barely notices that a person has walked into the arc of his swing.
The first thought that went through Paul's head was, Oh, look somebody is taking a stroll through the woods.
The second thought was, I'm going to take his head off with my axe if I don't..... SHIT!
