Since this is the widely available method in which to reach the others who have come here, I will make use of it. I understand people are still settling into Märchenstraße in order to fulfill these roles thrust upon us and my friend and I are able to further assist.

Where we've taken residency, there is a library that holds the various faerie tales and myths we've become part of. Should you wish to know the details of your character and the story they are from, we are willing to oblige in answering these questions.

[Message down, Naoto lowers her quill and looks around at the books she currently has stacked. Perfectly content to not visit town for a while again.]

[Someone's brain is out to lunch, because the page is slowly being filled with an ornate hand-drawn border and an illustration of a short-haired, well-dressed individual paging through a book. The lines are so sure and not the least bit sketchy, the hand of someone who doodles a lot in his spare time.]

Well, if you were able to take a carriage, perhaps others could too. I would like to explore the library myself. Surely you remember where you found the carriage.

Considering there were several versions of our own tale and many other stories around including the most obscure, I can safely say they're here.

Yes. The Shadow is the titular character in Hans Christian Andersen's "The Shadow".

What's it about?

[pishirogane]

It's about a learned man whose shadow eventually becomes an entity of its own. However, as the Shadow becomes more tangible, the man begins to fade away and in the end, the Shadow weds a Princess while the man is executed.

Why executed?

The man became so infirm to the point he was the shadow instead however tangible. As he was about to reveal the Shadow's true nature, he was arrested and executed for his own good, to become the shadow everyone assumed he was by now.

So the shadow replaces him. That's the point?
